Windows update windows xp not working

The so called fixit does not do jack anymore then the two place you sent me does. I wonder why that is. Since this is a freshly installed windows.

Could it just be that it is the new so called update agent you people carelessly put together that doesn't work. Just like this file iuhist.

Go figure. This is Microsofts issue and has been for the past 3 or more years and Microsoft has yet to fix it. Time is running out for those of us that want to get windows Xp up to date and if you asked me that is exactlly what Microsoft wants to happen so people will just dump windows Xp and move on. I think i should just move on to Apple.

It doesn't seem so now. You all just keep us running around in the same circles and getting us nowhere Honestly i hope someday soon a team of people persons comes along and puts microsoft out of business once and for all. But then again Microsoft is doing just that to it selves by producing junk like windows 8 and 8.

I know if i was the big head in a company i would surely be listening and following what the consumers are doing. That is the whole problem with Microsoft.

The head is much to big for the shoulders it sits on. So do everyone a big favor and stop running us around in circles and realize it is Microsofts Download agent that is messed up and should have never been changed until all support was truly over for Windows Xp.

You got to spend money to make money. Mircosoft acts just like the company i work for Lost!! Time is running out on Xp as millions have been left in the dark and will remain in the dark. Thanks for nothing once Trusted in Microsoft. The problem you are experiencing is a result of timing the upgrades. Proceed as follows and you should be up and running.

This all takes a rather long time while everything loads. Well the sequence I published earlier no longer works. It worked for maybe 3 reloads on the same computer had other issues and since publishing the sequence it no longer works. It appears the hand writing is on the wall.

When you go to updates you get the message "Windows update does not start in Windows XP, Windows Server or windows ". I used another computer which has had XP loaded for some time and opened Explorer 8 and clicked on tools and windows update. When I input the other web site address, it immediately did an over ride back to the last email.

In other words, someone has put in the Explorer upgrade a command to take you to the web site that says updates no longer work for XP. Seems a bit unethical if Microsoft did this since they say they will support XP until April If anyone can figure out how to over ride their over ride, we would be back in business. AMEN, brother!!!

Well said!!! In reply to Chet70's post on December 13, This all takes a rather long time while everything loads First off the Service Pack 3 is the wrong one. It is set for IT and develepers, it states in the download page if you are installing the Windows Xp Sp3 on one computer goto windows update. Well is that something smart to say and just how cluless Microsoft is about their problem.

Because i can't down anything from a website that doesn't work. Like a good computer professional, before turning it back over to the client, you are going to apply all the service packs, patches, and updates that Microsoft might want the system to have.

Except when you go to update. I'm going to jump ahead quite a bit - I tried all the things suggested in that article, then tried other things others found and did, and had no success. In another scenario, Windows Update's GUI is endlessly looping around on itself and never actually updating your system. Awesome PC Accessories. Best Linux Laptops. Best Wireless iPhone Earbuds.
